House rules
These rules govern everything you do here โ reading, writing, uploading, holding an account. By using the site you accept them in full. The administrator can change them at any time; this page is always the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the change.
Words used below: the site is this service and everything on it; staff are the people who run it; you are anyone using it, signed in or not.
No promises
The site is provided as it is, with no warranty of any kind. Nothing here is guaranteed to be available, correct, complete or kept. Access may be interrupted, restricted or ended at any time without notice, and data may be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Staff accept no liability for anything that follows from using the site or from what other people have written on it, and none for what is on sites linked from here.
Who may use it
- Use the site lawfully. What is illegal where you are is not allowed here.
- You must be an adult under the law that applies to you.
- Some things need an account, and an account may need an invitation or staff approval. Staff may refuse or revoke access at their discretion.
- No commercial use, advertising or marketing. No scraping, harvesting or bulk downloading; no bots or automated access except the feeds and sitemap the site publishes for that purpose.
- Be sparing with the site's resources. Unused accounts may be removed.
- Privacy is respected here: the site records as little about you as it can, and you are not asked to reveal who you are.
How to behave
Treat everyone here with respect, honesty and good faith. The following will get you removed:
- interfering with the site, probing or exploiting it, or trying to obtain access you were not given โ including another page's edit code;
- collecting other people's data from the site;
- spam, advertising, or flooding the site with pages, entries or uploads;
- harassment, intimidation, threats, personal attacks, or publishing anyone's private details;
- hateful, discriminatory or abusive content;
- deliberate disruption of other people's pages or of the site's working;
- sexually explicit or illegal material of any kind.
What you write
Pages here are meant to be true. State what you can stand behind, say where a fact comes from when it is not common knowledge โ a footnote with the source is enough โ and label opinion as opinion. Do not present a guess as a fact, and do not write about a living person what they have not made public themselves.
Only upload images you took or have the right to share here, and say where an image came from if it is not yours. Do not copy long passages from elsewhere; write it in your own words and link to the source. By publishing here you accept responsibility for what you publish.
Anything you publish here may be read, copied and built on by anyone. If you are not content with that, do not publish it.
Edit codes and ownership
A page belongs to whoever holds its edit code. Do not try to obtain codes you were not given, and do not share a code you were trusted with. If a page you own is abandoned and somebody else wants to carry it on, hand the code over โ or ask the administrator, who can reissue a page's code to its creator.
What staff may do
Staff may review or refuse submissions, freeze or hide a page, change a page without its code, remove an image, ban an address, or restrict, suspend or close an account โ immediately, without warning, and without giving reasons. Every act staff take is recorded, with who took it and when, and a change made to a page that way is recorded as a staff act rather than the owner's.
Accounts and leaving
An account holds your address and remembers your pages. You can close it at any time: your details are erased, and everything you published stays as it was, no longer connected to you. Photos waiting for review when you leave are removed.
